The Barossa

fine wines & stunning views

The Barossa is home to over 170 wineries between Barossa Valley and Eden Valley and is widely regarded by international wine writers, judges, retailers and consumers as Australia’s most famous wine region, with a lot of Barossa wines winning awards consistently.

It is home to Australia’s most unique varietal style – Barossa Shiraz – and its most premium and sought-after embodiments: among them Rockford Basket Press and Henschke Hill of Grace.

While Shiraz is the hero red variety, Riesling is the hero white variety, where its place is firmly entrenched in Eden Valley.

Barossa is home to over 40 wine grape varieties, each with its own character, reflecting the hand of the grower and the winemaker.

The elements of the Barossa Valley that allow it to create such highly awarded and internationally renowned wines are:

Climate

Soil

Talent

Passion

Consistency

The Barossa Valley has the longest unbroken lineage of winemaking and grape growing families in the country, some entering their seventh generation. It has been the headquarters of innovation and production since the early 1900s. All of this wealth of knowledge and rich history is shared between the tight knit wine community in the area

At Green Moustache we have a big collection of Barossa Valley wines and we value all the winemakers we’re in touch with a lot! One of the wine makers we’re working with from the Barossa is Tom White, who’s passion it is to make sustainable wines.

The Maker and Curator Wine Co are especially known for their beautiful Shiraz - typical!
